Socio-legal perspectives on the rule of law: Introduction to the issue focus

Abstract

When the German Law and Society Association (“Vereinigung für Recht und Gesellschaft“) initiated a workshop to take place in Frankfurt (Oder), just at the German-Polish border, the aim was to start a cooperation with Polish socio-legal researchers. The issue of the rule of law seemed the obvious choice for such a cooperation, given the historical affinities of German and Polish concepts of the rule of law.
